Fancy bells & succulents

Just had to share my pics of Cl Broughton Bride. It’s just in it’s 2nd year & this is the first summer flowering

This is Sempervivum Hurricane showing one of the rosettes has flowered.

I’m also really pleased with the Mother of Pearl or Ghost plant (Graptopetalatum paraguayense)

and Echevaria Glauca

The Chameleon plant (Houttuynia cordata) is showing colour now too.

Today the field next to us was harvested so I had to stay indoors as it affects my breathing but it means they will be cutting the headland soon hopefully & cut down the nettles which tower above the hedge.

Clematis Broughton Bride is new to me. I do like it. Does it really have lilac specks?

Yes, Eirlys, it really does. They are tiny little dots that you have to get close to see as otherwise the flowers appear pure white.

I was out in the garden today & so many plants are covered in bits of debris & dust, I had thought the large high hedge would keep it off them but no such luck.

Thank you, Greenfinger. I shall be Googling for a supplier!! It's a lovely clematis.

Eirlys, I like https://www.thorncroftclematis.co.uk/ not the cheapest but their plants are always large & healthy.

Lovely Clematis, Greenfinger!

My son planted one in the spring this year & it is doing very well. He has it in a big pot but I don't think it will be very happy thereafter a couple of years. It has produced several very nice flowers which I've taken photos of.

Balcony, I'm afraid you're right about your son's plant, it's not one that is suitable for a pot. Those that are need a big pot that's a minimum of 18'' (45cm) deep.
If you go to the site I suggested above, there is a list of all the ones that are suitable for patio pot growing.

I've found it helps so much to have these lists & info as I've had plenty of disappointments in the past & wasted lots of ££££'s too.

It is indeed, Siris, this is just a young plant, it will look a treat when it grows up to cover the fence.

Some lovely plants there Mari ,I love the Clematis , you've reminded me of years ago when we were surrounded by corn fields as soon as we knew they were ready to start cutting we dashed round the house taking down the pictures off the walls as from past experience we knew they would be full of midges if we didn't they ruined the pictures ,how on earth they manage to get in between the frame and glass goodness knows ....

Amy

same thing happened when I was a kid with those tiny black things ? whatever they are , my mum was decorating she had to stop for two weeks until all the corn was cropped

I had forgotten

Its funny how these things come back to remind you Andy , It also reminded me of how we use to follow the combine with our sticks waiting for the rabbits to run out we didn't have a hope in He** of catching one but it was fun ,our legs were so sore from the scratching stubble Lol ...

I've never seen rabbits around here, just a pair of hares one year but not seen them in a long time now.
