Morning everyone.

I didn’t know that GOY would ‘grow’ on me as much as it has! (Please forgive the pun!) Can you believe this, I’ve taken a week off work and here I am at 7.30 a.m. thinking about getting out in my garden. The sun is shinning after all the rain last night and all day yesterday groan. I will be knackered by the time I go back to work!

A big you to all the wonderful gardeners who have taken the time to answer my questions.

My dad is coming round later to give me a ‘hand’ pruning and he doesn’t know it yet, emptying out the compost bins! I am so tempted to pretend i’m out. Don’t get me wrong I love him dearly but his idea of helping isn;t mine. He will tell ME what to do. He nearly killed my lavender bush last time he ‘helped’ . The bush that was my Grandfathers and is at least 50 if not more years old!!!! I wonder if that’s a record. Anyway I guess it gets him out the house!!

I just hope the sun stays shinning and I have an abundance of patience today!

I’ll let you know how it all goes………

pleased that you are enjoying goy-- you could introduce your Dad to goy-- its so addictive that he won't have the time to 'help' in the garden :o)

My dad using a computer now that would be funny. He has enough trouble operating the washing machine haha. Like the thought though.

G that lavender bush must have been really expertly pruned over the years to survive so long. They usually end up all leggy. Anyway keep poor Dad away from it. Hope he doesn't join GoY or he'll see your blog. If the compost job is successful, that will be a good job done.

Thanks for all the comments guys. Kept dad away from my lavender! im sure that my bush is thanking me!!!
I ended up turning out the compost all by myself now my back is killing me!!
My dad did install a water butt for me and now its raining and filling up really quickly. The problem is its leaking from the pipe. To be honest it looks like a boched job but at least its half working. I don't mean to sound ungrateful honestly I dont but now its leaking. What do I do???? Its leaking from where the down pipe has been cut into and the fixing pipe has been attached.

My daughter bless her, did her bit, and took the old canes off the raspberry bush. The garden is begining to look loved again.

Poor you too many ungardeners but I feel sure you will soon be able to tell your Dad that now you have so much knowledge at your fingertips (GOY site) you are full of helpful advice. You have made me giggle even if you didn't mean too and we do all like to be lighthearted some of the time. Your Dad certainly seems to want to help but not quite managing. I think I would have to make some excuse when he comes to "help". Not quite got the answer but maybe you can think of something. Good luck Sue

Couldn't agree more Spritz, it's been wet and cold over here in Wiltshire too! My hellibores are doing the leaf-stroke and the wallflowers treading water!! Lol! :~))

Hi G, I am from the grey concrete town of good old London Town myself, though moved to Wilts as almost a teenager with my family, ah, but I remember it well lol! Am really proud to be a Londoner, but now my roots are well and truly embedded in this county, and I love it here!! Am so glad you had a chuckle at my comment, it's sad but true, my poor old garden really soggy, so water table must be very high after all the snow we had here. Bout time we had a few days of warm sun, over Easter would be nice, if anyone can have a word with Him upstairs? lol.Am glad to hear Lavender bush still in one piece G, great to hear from you!:~))

Well people you got your wish the sun has gone and left me. Garden is sooooo soggy. Hope you got the sun I sent you Spritzhenry!, Floribunda I sent you some sun to. But seriously Guys if it doesn't stop raining what will we do? I am getting worried now, as I lost most of my crops to rain and the slugs last year; so much money went down the drain. It can't happen again can it. Who ever is talking to him upstairs please ask for the sun to dry the gardens of all of us on GOY. Thank you
