Well last Saturday was the trees dedication day and all of ‘Brians’ family and fellow scouters were invited. A wonderful BBQ. was planned and provided and we all sat in the open field and enjoyed an amazing afternoon in warm sunshine, eating and raising our glasses to absent friends, it was a lovely time.

My hubby made the base and stand for the plaque.

Here is the plaque in place, ready for the dedication.

Family & fellow scouters gather round for photos.

Here we all are enjoying the wonderful sunshine, food and friendship.

‘Fagus sylvatica,purpurea. Copper beech’

Sorry tried to turn this photo, did and it still ended up on its side, Lol. But as you can see the tree looks good, it has grown and thanks to my dear hubb. for watering this tree two to three times a week for the last six months! Long may it continue to grow on the perimiter of this lovely piece of land.

Yes - great choice - copper beeches are so handsome. Good that you had sun for the occasion, but now nourishing rain for the newly-planted tree.

You will like it Grandma ge! It's called "Warning" . . . and was given to me as a little illustrated book by a friend who is ten years younger that me, with a note that said "for future reference".
