Hello to garden blogging!
The sky looks threatening but nothing has come of it so I’ve spent a productive morning in the garden making up for lost time. Have had so little time ffor gardening lately. The result is that it looks rather neglected. Have weeded the main beds and collected seeds from my white Aquilegia, pink and blue Gallery Lupins, Viola and my pink Foxglove. Planted 2 Dahlias, 1 Rudbeckia and some Coreopsis, so the garden doesn’t look as empty as it did. As I had a good seed yield from the Lupins and Aquilegia this year, I’ve put some on the seed exchange boards. I’m just stunned by this wonderful community and would like to thank those who have left such kind messages of welcome.
As the garden is fairly young, I’m still trying to sort out seasonal colour. At the moment, everything ends in August. Not good. Heading into Autumn, I don’t think I have anything of interest.
Bindweed is trying to take over the garden.
Went to Varfell Dalia fields in the afternoon and bought a HUGE mystery variety. It’s hot pink and gorgeous. Photos tomorrow!
Hopefully getting the chickens very soon. Not strictly gardening, I know, but fundamental to my plans for being more self-sufficient. I’d love to get a week off work so I can sort out the fencing and build the house.
Oh, look – it’s raining. I can’t believe the weather this year; It’s liked we’ve skipped Summer all together!
Until next time. xxx
