meager beginnings

As some will know we started our journey 2 years ago, and yet I feel like I’ve got nothing done, except the brick pathway, which took me almost a year to complete, all the way to the stairs, but here’s the results…

I wanted it to be curved but got over ruled.

I’ve been finding some interesting flowers growing wild and am going to try to incorporate them into the garden area..

I’ve also found some beautiful climbing minature roses along the roadside lining the pecan orchard, going for about a 100 meters. I’ve dug up a few sprigs and planted them along the fence line, I’m hoping they will take and cover most of it, along with some from a neighbour in a lighter shade of pink.

planted these last year and am so glad they came back, unfortunately the bulbs I planted early this year are looking a bit stunted.

Stopped by the local GC and picked up a few foxgloves, I just love these and have seen the bees quite active around them since I put them in.

And last but not least some meager beginnings of my first bed. It started out filled with saplings and brambles. I’ve pulled most out and started by planting some Gladiolus bulbs, which have yet to flower. Dug up some daylilies that were growing in a storm ditch and placed them throughout the bed.
Along with some more free flowers given to me that I’ve had in pots the last few years.

and no garden is complete without a little helper… My littlest bub Caleb helping with potting.

Hope you enjoy and I didn’t go on and on. Many blessings for you gardens.

Lovely house and little Caleb looks to have the makings of a good gardener, you've found some nice plants and the rest will 'evolve' to complement the setting
