Lupinus 'Masterpiece' (Lupinus)

New plant for this year. Rachel loves lupins and I finally squeezed some in for her!

Ah, we'll, it had to be a special one to gain entry to my garden Moti...I'm not much of a lupin fan. But this one is gorgeous!

I love lupins - unfortunately, so do "my" snails. But mine are nowhere near as far on as these.

Melchi..these are only advanced because they are new and bought in as large plants.

So stately I love them, have not grown any for over 20 years, due to giant greenfly which put me off!!

I love them too and that colour is gorgeous but I'm with Dotty on the monster greenfly.....I have real problem with big bright green bugs Lol :o)

Interesting...I wonder if they will draw the aphids away from my roses!

I wonder? do let us know K.....

I have two great tits nesting in my box, and two house Martin nests on my walls...they ought to be devouring a quantity of pests between them!

I've only ever seen the 'monster' ones on Lupins, funny how they manage to locate them. Having said that I'd never seen a lily beetle but they appeared the day after I bought a Lily home.

You must have 'bought' the lily beetle as well Annie. I haven't seen one of those b*****s yet, it's too blooming cold up here for em! This morning was sunny, but there's a cold wind today and now it's clouded over. The lily beetles are all saying....'nah, lets turn around and go back to England!'

I think you must be right Karen but I thought I had really checked it out before buying.
I'm on the case with the Osteospermum, it seems to behave more like 'Stardust' so may take a while to get going :o))

Oh, thanks so much! X

I have just "removed " four lily beetles from one of my lily pots. It's the babies that are so disgusting - they cover themselves in excrement, but they at least are easy enough to dispose of. You have to develop a strategy to remove the adults - they drop off backwards, so you can't see them on the soil surface. I always make sure I have something underneath when I disturb them. They are very hard to squash!

Yuck, yuck, YUCK!! Lol
