Although tulips are associated with Holland, both the flower and its name originated in Persia.

Gorgeous!
A friend brought me some of those bulbs from Holland a few years ago. They didn't do too well for me but I don't think I was caring for them as I should have.
They are stunning!

Yes, I need to do that too. My sweet peas which looked so lovely when I put them in have been getting seriously attacked by our wee slimey friends, but at last they are beginning to put on a bit of growth and can wave mr slug, or is it ms snail, goodbye! My guess is mine are probably about half the size of yours just now, although we will catch up...

I think I have these tulips, as well. they are a lovely coral pink on the outside but when you look down into the bowl they are pure red. Wish I could remember the name...in my garden they are the last tulips to bloom.

thanks ladies, and it is a bit of a surprize as the pack pic, was red and white, and i did'nt realise that it would be so small - but a very nice suprize never the less. to be honest if i did'nt know better i would think it is a crocus rather than a tulip, - its that sort of size and looks like one when open!

It sure is a fantastic find, those bulbs. This one is spectacular. Look up tulips on google and you can find different species. It might be there amongst them.
