Yes, I thought so too. I had not seen it before either. I've seen it in the Botanical Gardens here, but also along the borders of streets in the rainforest places. So yes, people have them in their gardens.

I have a friend who could probably kill for this plant...lol. It's definitely a unique looking bloom.

No I don't have the strelitzia in my garden. But it sure is a beauty. The blue and orange combination is striking of the Strelitzia. I have seen it in colder climates too. There too many species.
