Apparently i should remove the flowers to encourage bushier foliage... i left the flowers on for about 2 weeks before i brought myself to pinch them all off.

Recently I have grown some coleus from seed
and hoped for a range of colours such as yours.
The seedlings are all identical, beautiful but identical.

We grow the Coleus from seed and take cuttings from the previous season and then over-winter the plants indoors.
They are very easy to germinate, and are incredibly prolific! In mixed varieties such as these when the seeds have first germinated it's very difficult to know what the leaf patterns will look like, but once the young shoots develop their leaf patterns we group them and select them for colour themed displays. We also place them with other perennials and foliage plants.
We use them for underplanting and for adding colour and texture to areas requiring a bit of the Wow factor!

They are great in the Autmn Spritz. I'm taking cuttings of my favourites for next year to keep them going.

Your coleus could be the same variety as the one we grew this year - "Scarlet" from the "Wizard" series. It looks gr8 at the base of your tree, Gardengnome.
