Known as grape hyacinths for their early spring blooming blue flowers that look like bunches of grapes.

I really like grape hyacinths so much so I have them all along the pathways on the front garden they are such great value for money too.
Mine have yet to come into all their glory but if they look half as good as yours then I will be really chuffed! Hel.xxx.

Isn't there a festival around the time of the cherry blossoms? Would love to see that.

I was surprised that you still have snow in Hungary.
Here in Japan, cherry blossoms are coming out these days!

Oh dear! Sorry to read that you had so much trouble, Spritz! You know, what with all these storms, warnings, etc, I have not had a breath of wind in nearly 2 weeks now. Hence, have been outdoors sowing and potting up even at midnight?!! Yet, on the coast, just 10 miles away, entire village streets were under sea water! What a strange and diverse island we live on! Hope your area recovers quickly ( and all others affected, too).

David - the stream came up...and up... and swished over the lower part of our grass. The lanes were flooded and I didn't dare go through the ford on my way to Church yesterday, I drove 10 miles extra to go safely...It's going back down now. Yes, I do like the bright blue, Jac!

One of my favourite spring flowers. Last year we didn't get to see them as the youngest girl kept bringing mummy in the "Barbie grapes" !

They do look a bit strange, don't they. I think I would cut these off. Could be bugs or just natural, I am afraid I don't know why this is happening - but remember my strange Bluebell? Nature does things occasionally!
