I'm assuming they cut the seed-pods off...because I'm sure in Florida with the Hot and Humid Climate they would literally take over huge areas.

D. I have never seen them outside of this garden. It doesn't appear to be a commonly grown plant here. They have them potted at the garden. I guess that would make sense if they tend to spread.

Do these plants become weeds there? I know they have a tendency to pop up everywhere...once you have one, you have a million.

I think this is just an ornamental variety. Tapioca is made from roots I believe. This is the first tapioca plant I have seen, so I don't know much about them.

Wow, never seen a tapioca tree. Wonder what the fruit looks like or what do they make the flour fom?
