"Volunteer Plant" is a nicer way of saying "weedy" or "weed-plant" which is the same as "self-seeded".

Volunteer plant ~
Is that a term more often used in the USA than in UK?
In Britain I think we would more likely say 'self-seeded' plant, but I'm not sure.
It could be that 'volunteer plant' is a candidate for Lori's blog on unusual gardening terms. Delonix1 ~ What do you think about this ?
Hywel ~ on internet it says that this plant is a like a weed.
Fruits and flowers are toxic to humans and animals. :o(

It has a strange name - 'bellyache bush'
Is it poisonous or something?

Hi Delonix, this pic was from a little while back, so I don't remember the height. We just visited this same garden yesterday, so I was able to identify this plant. They had a potted one that was marked, but it was a smaller plant.

Gardengem:
Absolutely beautiful plant!
How large is this plant? I've seen these plants in San Diego, however they are usually smaller than 6 feet tall on average when planted in the ground.

Thanks...they do have pretty new leaves, even though they are weedy and very poisonous.
