Welcome to GoY, Nick.
Love this photo,
it is very similar to the views we have in the beech woods of Buckinghamshire.

Hello Spritzhenry, I was just after a little advice regarding Bluebells.
I haven't really looked into it yet but was wondering...is it possible to take a cutting from Bluebells and plant it straight into soil ? If not, which yields the best/easiest results....bulbs or seeds ?
And I must confess, I don't think I've seen either of those on sale as yet, although I haven't been to a major garden centre yet !
Hope I haven't dribbled on too much !
Clueless Kev.

When we lived on the Isle of Wight, we had a bluebell wood near us and the ground was just a carpet of blue. I used hire a horse from the local stables and go riding through. Lovely....Lindak.

Thanks both - this wood is at the top of quite a steep hill, which puts most people off I think, as it is usually diserted.

I often do, Janette! I usually have these woods entirely to myself, but much to my surprise I found an elderly couple sat on the tree today! :-S

they are really different arnt they - they were all here growing under the old apple tree we had removed last year, so i dug them up not knowing there were so many different variations in colour and spread them around a bit, and i have blue, lilac pink and white, they are looking really good at the moment!

Living in the southern counties, you seem to be much more advanced than us in the Midlands.
