Georgous specimen. It blooms at a time when most of the garden is still asleep.

It's in flower now - generally January to February, It can get to be a large shrub up to 12 feet tall and across. Mine is trained against a wall and pruned to within one bud of the old wood immediately after flowering. It needs a sheltered spot in partial shade. The only time it looks a bit 'off' is just after flowering when the old leaves (it is evergreen) look a bit tatty but by the end of April it has recovered.
