The messy rock is 20 inches by 17 inches by 12 inches. So it is quite a large rock to carry around in your hand bag with your pink and white horse. But don't listen to me - who am I to argue - you ladies always know best don't you?

Oh my word...My father's name is Albert.
He was a very good pond builder by the way, he only had one very large one but he loved it and grew bullfrogs there and raised ducks and built a long bridge over it.
I Love my prize and the little dalmation garden friends look very happy too. Can I keep the rock with all that pretty moss on it too?

Love the colour of this Chris. I have a few Ericas - my way of remembering my lovely daughter Erika!

Think I know now - just saw some in my local garden centre labelled as erica gracillis - so that would account for the GR! They are lovely, aren't they - and certainly very graceful.
I have recently bought some erica carnea "Foxgrove" which has lovely yellow/bronze/orange foliage. Label says that it has pink flowers, so I am not too sure of the total colour combo (bit eye-watering) - but the foliage is worth it alone.

This is actually in a container. I plan to winter it in an unheated front porch after the first frost, as they don't overwinter well outdoors here.

Hi Chris, it looks healthy but all my heathers are small. I don't know about the soil but there's lots of open land around here and I see quite a lot of heathers growing naturally when I'm out and about. Mine were planted as part of the garden facelift last March.

very healthy looking heather. You must have acid soil. We garden on sand and heather hates it here.

Not Erica carnea, it's one of the bud bloomers from Culluna vulgaris, late autumn flowering, you have to be carefull when buying some of these plants as they are often sold sprayed with dye in supposedly pretty colours at this time of the year.

it does flower for a while, but i don't think it will go all the way through, but by the time it finishes there will be other things in this bed that will take over, and once it finishes flowering you cut it back a bit and then you get really pretty lime green new growth.
