This is lovely with the Verbena boniariensis - again, being so far north ours are nowhere near as tall as that yet, never mind coming into flower. Goes really well with the Cardoon here - yet another combination of yours I am going to have to pinch.

Well, I'm still wondering where to plant it!

I'm sure it will David, give it plenty of room and put your satellite plants a couple of feet away from the bottom otherwise it will block out their light, I always have to cut the bottom leaves off the Cardoon as I planted it as an afterthought and my other plants aren't getting the light they need.

Did you grow this as a veg? I grew it a few years ago as an accent plant...it grew to about 3.5 feet tall and was still growing when the early winter frost finally took it.
It's one of my favourite plants.

Planted Cardoon, but removed the blossom. it became a fountain of gray green...It was a car stopper. met some new friends when they stopped to ask about it. found the seed in the Richter Herbs, seed catalogue..Do you have any family in N.A. who sell herb seeds? lol. check them out on the web...
