Yes, and stay away from them, you can see the sharp edges of those spikes, they are about 15 cm long each.

Ah a cycas...these guys are ancient, aren't they? Saw some interesting pictures of New Zealand rainforest...these figured prominently..they are so graceful and symetrical. And you own one, lucky you!
