Orchid,

I have many photos of Bismarckia nobilis posted on this website. Check out my older pics.

Yes, it is one of my favorites also, I love the huge fan fronds.

I love the geese in the backgound or are they ducks?

I know of several plants of the Green Bismarck Palm...however, it is not that commonly grown here. Many people seem to prefer the silver/white variety.

You don't see the green variety here much at all. Pitty that car was parked there!

Luckily now they are fairly inexpensive. I know of some independent nurseries selling this tree for $30.00 for a 5 gal. It used to cost $125.00 for a 1 gal plant about 12 years ago. Large trees in 24 inch boxes still cost around $200-$300.

Have you ever seen the green form?

I know them. They were growing a lot in Darwin, I have seen them from close by and you can see the fructescence on their fronds clearly on my photo's too. I loved them the minute I saw them. Here too, people grow them in their gardens and I see them in round-a-bouts in the roads, just like in your picture, surrounded by smaller plants. I love them too, but not cheap to buy.

This silver form is more popular than the green form which is seen occasionally.

I can see why that's popular.
Very attractive.
