Cyril the squirrel

I put out some french loaf for the birds a few days ago but the poor things didn’t get a look in; the squirrel that lives near by stole the lot and buried bits in my pots and up a tree. The birds haven’t been near or by in days. Maybe the got a better offer.

Pain in the proverbial - the squirrel has discovered the fatballs and seeds put out for the birds and eaten the lot. I've given up putting those out for the time being, just the nut feeder is being kept filled - it is very funny watching him trying to access the nuts though. No chance, its a squirrel proof one...

oooh la la cyril

My fatballs were in a tubular feeder - squirrel still got them. But my squirrel proof nutfeeder is impenetrable, as far as he's concerned, brilliant, works really well.

i even tied wire around it but he sat on the top and pulled off the wire then the lid!!!

ah, then you haven't got one like mine! It's got very thick terracotta lid and base, pressed steel tube with holes, and a large stainless steel bolt and hook at the top. Bit of a performance getting the lid back on when refilling though.

Doesn't it know that it should be hibernating?!
We had to get the pest controller in to rid our loft of them....
