28 Dec, 2010

what was that poem

Old Tom tomato, like a red ball
grows in the sunshine, behind the garden wall
Along came hywell with his mouth open wide
and old tom tomato tumbled down inside

down, down,down,down the red lane
and nobody saw tom tomato again

well not until sandra came along!

28 Dec, 2010

28 Dec, 2010

I've just cracked open a new packet of Chocolate Hobnobs... and I blame you, Stickitoffee ... I challenge you to Hobnobs at dawn ...
at 50 paces ...

28 Dec, 2010

They look rather red for Irish tomatoes? Shouldn't they have been green, like most of us got this year???

Acutually, Hywel, this would be a fantastic variety name, methinks!!! :-)))))

28 Dec, 2010

white tomatoes here david!
you are on TT!!!
oh just remembered will have been at work for 2 and a half hours before dawn!!! but since i work in supermarket i think i can out hobnob you!!!!!!!

28 Dec, 2010

28 Dec, 2010

Loved the verse, Sticki. Are you sure they are tomatoes, and not snowballs? :-))))

Don't ever mention the "C" word within my virtual earshot, though!!!! :-)))

29 Dec, 2010

"C" word, David ? Coast ? Lol..

Sticki ...
congrats. on working alongside all those hobnobs .. ;o)

29 Dec, 2010

Are they those flavoursome Piccollo ones that can come from Kent TT......or rather, were they? Pricey but nicey.

29 Dec, 2010

Hi Dorjac ...
they might look like "sweet vine-ripened ...
... from Holland"
.. but they are the famous Irish Coast Tomatoes ;o)

29 Dec, 2010

got snowballs and tomatoes here!

29 Dec, 2010

Careful, Sticki ... don't mix your drinks ;o)

29 Dec, 2010

29 Dec, 2010

you must be taking the mick!

29 Dec, 2010

... take your pick ... chic or hic ;o)

29 Dec, 2010

there are alternatives that would be better left off here!
but i think its all a trick?

29 Dec, 2010

All a trick ?
Are you hinting that those tomatoes in the pic are not really the rare Irish Coast variety ?

Hywel will be growing more of these special tomatoes next year ..
Keep a look out later in 2011 ;o)

29 Dec, 2010

rare tomatoes are better than squashed tomatoes i guess?
will irish coast tomatoes grow in wales????

29 Dec, 2010

Next year, special tomato-growing trials will be taking place in Carmarthenshire ;o)
... Watch this space ...

29 Dec, 2010

RTS will be very interested im sure [Royal Tomatocultural Society]

29 Dec, 2010

Lol. he he he .... good one :o)

Could be these new tomatoes will get the ...

... ★ award of merit ...

or ... ★ award of merriment ...

29 Dec, 2010

What I want to know is will they be catalogued under I for Irish or T for Tomatoes, could help in finding them next year!

29 Dec, 2010

Hi Bob... could be under E for Erin ? ;o)

We'll find your new varieties on the New ZEALand map ...

29 Dec, 2010

I've already looked there TT, not a Tomato in sight. LOL, I found some stray L's though.

29 Dec, 2010

award of merriment is excellent
could also have:
Hywel's hysterical haward
or
Terratoonie's topical tumultuous triumph???

29 Dec, 2010

Bob ...
stray L's ?
As is LOL for Laughter ?
... those are always welcome ;o)

Sticki ...
All awards are to be in the form of engraved chocolate Hobnobs of various shapes :o)

HRH ... Hywel's Regal Hobnob award ... :o)

29 Dec, 2010

lol ! :D

29 Dec, 2010

are stray L's anything to do with the first no-eL??

29 Dec, 2010

... or maybe discarded L plates from Learners who've passed their tomato-growing tests ?
