I can see why you got the trophy. Nice, clean veggies, evenly sized and nicely presented. Well done.

Definitely an award winning assortment of good eats.

Ah Bulbaholic, are you an expert in show veggies? that would be handy to know :-)) there was a few carrot entries and Im not sure why mine won, all I know is they were dug up a few minutes before leaving to set up (as with all the other stuff) I have learned that even size and shape is important. It was a bit more difficult with the potatoes as they tend to be more uneven despite trying to find three with similar characteristics. Anyway, I have to say I dont take it too seriously, for me to start it's just great fun, now Ive won its given me motovation to want that feeling again :-))

They look great and edible, which I believe some prize veg are not. Congratulations!!! As you don't need them any more, perhaps you could parcel them up and send them to me ? :-))

Well done!! love the little squash there Lynne, if you were to cook it what would you do?

Thanks everyone. Unfortunately I cant parcel them up for you Bornagain as they've already been eaten :-))

Janey, the Baby Squash is one from a trial Im doing for the Which Gardening magazine. What I do with them is quite ordinary, I cut the top off which becomes the lid, I scoop the flesh and discard the seeds. I mix the flesh with other veg, sweat down, add chicken stock, blitz and pour the soup back into the squash, then microwave for several minutes, sprinkle with strong grated cheese or a dollop of creme fraiche . Put the lid on, Serve with crusty bread. A nice hearty soup and no washing up after :-)
