Beautiful. Yes, I have a customer whose Alstromeria have started flowering again after flowering most of the summer. Mind you, it has been like summer down here for the last week or so(apart from day of rain last Wed)

I know Paul, we've had temperatures between 68 and 70 for about a week now, lots of rain at night too so everything's growing again !

Yes, we had a little rain last night too! I could be cutting lawns in December at this rate!! I don't mind if I do!

I think ours will definitely need more cutting - it usually does down here, anyway. At least it takes the fallen leaves off the lawn as well! :-))

The winter before last i cut the grass through the winter !
It just didn't stop growing, if it's going to be mild this winter the same might happen again.

Yes, Spritz. I've got a few customers who like me to run mower over with blades highish to collect the leaves up. It's quicker than raking a large lawn like some I do!

It would kill my back to rake up all the leaves on our lawns - they are rather large! The trouble is that the three big poplar trees refuse to drop their leaves all at once - so it goes on for what seems like weeks! Cruel, aren't they!

My husband moans about having to cut the grass right through the winter - but it will keep growing! LOL.

I hav one customer whose garden is huge. They have lots of Plum,Damson, Apple and Pear tress. Most of these have dropped their leaves or will do in the next few days. But they have some very old/huge Oaks(3) that some years don't finish dropping until into January! Still, it gives me a little work to do in the winter!

Thanks Motinot :-))

I've been out walking around the garden this afternoon and all the Alstromerias are doing fine, sending up loads of new shoots, some not even died down .... despite the cold temps we've had so far this winter.
Such good value for money plants :-)))

...but only if they like your garden!!!!!!! :-(((

:-/
Yes, sorry :-(

I think you should make a little area in your garden where you can grow these 'difficult' items. Maybe a raised area with imported soil and grit.
An idea maybe ??
