About this plant

Species: Aechmea fasciata.

Free from a plant trade 8-21-06. I just found out the name from Greenthumb on GOY (Alaska). She has a similar one but ID'd the Aechmea for certain. After the plant blooms, it slowly dies, but produces "pups" first. Don't divide the pups too early from the mother plant.
This species grows on trees......keep soil dry but not bone dry. Keep water in "cups".
