Foxglove

Genus: Digitalis.

Species: Digitalis ambigua Grandiflora.

All the foxgloves in this garden are perennial..they come back year after year, although they may set seed, and they may be short-lived as well. They are all in the shady borders either side of the big mirror. They need no attention ,but if you cut the dead flower stems to the ground it keeps them tidy and prevents them from spreading their seed everywhere.

Perennial foxglove. Strong growing spikes of large yellow tubular flowers above waxy green leaves. Back of borders in partial shade on moist soils. Flowers all summer. 60 -90cm X 30cm toxic if eaten.
