Scented plants often look wonderful and this one's no exception. Jasmine species include white, yellow and pink flowers, and they make substantial statements in gardens with their rampant, climbing growth.

* Plant Type: Perennial

* Height: 6.01m (20ft)
* Spread: 3.01m (10ft)

* Situation: Sunny to shady

* Soil Type: Medium rich

Small jasmine plants are widely available in nurseries, so you can plan your garden to benefit from maximum scent. Try under or beside a window, where the scent can waft in, or around a seat in the garden, or up a pergola or orchard tree.

Alternatively, jasmines make ideal houseplants, for their scent can fill a room. Try other jasmines with yellow flowers, or variegated leaves in a darker part of a garden that needs jazzing up. Leave your new plant to grow for a couple of years before thinking about taking out any old growth.
