Winter Flowering Cherry

Genus: Prunus.

Species: Prunus subhirtella.

In a mild winter this wonderful cherry will flower for months. If it's a very cold one, it may not start until March, but it always flowers for a long time before the leaves appear, and it's a really welcome sight during the darkest winter months. It probably won't grow much taller now, but it will spread. You don't need to prune it.
