Wonderfull weather!!!!

HI all, it,s been a beautiful weekend here in Bideford Devon, really hope it,s the same for you, nothing but blue skies and sunshine ,
Of course that means extra watering, but who cares, its been a pleasure.
I’ve spotted a few whitefly on the fuchsias so have sprayed them this evening, before they get a hold, also noticed a few signs of the dreaded rust, so picked off the affected leaves and got rid of them in the houshold rubbish where they will go to landfill, its important not to compost this material.
will spray with half strength Systhane tomorrow night.
Wishing you all happy gardening, Dave,

been rain hail and wind here last few days, waiting for the rain to stop so that I can go out and water the garden. every one seems to have had a bit of rust this year on fuchsias due to the wet weather, sounds like you are under control though. try to ensure a bit of space between plants though as good air circulation is an important factor in beating it

Yeh, got to stay on top of rust as you know, one week you have a few little pustuals the next its rampant, but catch it early and you can get good control.
is rust a big problem with you,?

not usually but it has been this year, got it under control i think, keeping my eyes on the plants though.,been moving affected plants to a cold frame and treating them there away from the other plants as a precaution. weather went from bright and sunny to wet and miserable and had a sudden drop in temperature air heavy and moist , I think that is what set it off. they were fine all summer ,but we had a fairly dry summer here not the wet weather that england suffereed the last couple of years
