Lol Steragram, I thought the bigger tray would do for bigger birds to dip and the small ones for smaller birds to dip, and that both could drink at either. Lucky I spaced them a bit apart, they were closer at first.

lol Linda, I'm going to get a kid's paddling pool out there - so long as I cover it at night, or I'll find ducks in it!

ps four years later: now I've got a new garden i did get a paddling pool - I just need enough level ground to use it!

lol for me! last year I had a small one, covered it with old net curtain to keep insects out; would do the same this time. only snag is how to keep the water from going green without using chemicals - or refilling it every couple of days. apart from the water bill, water straight from the hose is cooooooooooooold!
