a day in the garden.

Hi GoY freinds. Well what a day I’ve Had——mannaged to find a space for all of those pots and trays hundreds of them ‘great’,thanks to my cousin. That did take along time, because I had to tidy up my shed, and a tiny potting shed.Thats full to the brim now. I even had to put retaining straps to stop them falling out. Although it seemed to take ages, it wasn’t heavy work. So I actually enjoyed it. With my usual breaks and doing odd little jobs inbetween the main task, time just shot by. I started at 11 am and when it got dark I put my portable light, but it got finnished. No gardening done yet so I then went into the G/H. and started to tinker about. I heard or read in agardening mag.that every effort must be made to keep things from getting to damp, now it is getting colder, so it stops plants from rotting .Then I thought all the dampness will be in my gravel beds. Guess what! I started to move all of my pot plants and remove all of the gravel on the staging.I only did half of one staging. It’s time now to go in. After all it was 9pm. But what a great day. I’ve had a thought now. The gravel has got a lot of grit in it, so what I am going to do is riddle it, keep the grit for mixing with potting compost, and just use the gravel to put back on the staging next year. I must go now it’s been one of those better days. Frank

It sounds like you've been bitten really hard by that old gardening bug now Frank. You're certainly making up for lost time in that lovely greenhouse. I'm sure Father Christmas will be extra generous this year!

Thanks again. you will never guess what now, I went to see my cousin again. He's given me half as many pots and trays again. Finding somewhere to store them wll be a task. Yes the BUG has struck again Lily2.The G/H is 20 years old and because it's an Aluminium G/H it is still in good nick.I did mainly fuschias before 80+ different named ones and at least 2000 cuttings every year.
Hope we both get some sleep tonight Blodyn

Hello Sanbaz, THats the trouble, whenever I do something that keeps me very interested in it, I just can't come down or calm down and it's difficult to stop thinking, I had no sleep that night and was awake and upmost of the night. It's like that sometimes. But never mind. Frank
