Good blog joanella...what a variety of produce you ate!
Milk, & it's by-products, is one of our biggest embarrassments I think...cheddar cheese from Latvia...imported milk from Roumania for cheese-making over here...& yet our dairy farms are virtually all gone.
There was a thing on the TV about a man logging lorries passing one another on our motorways carrying the same product from one end of the country to the other when they could just distribute them where they started from!!
Madness.

Sorry to see your damage Carol...wretched weather. We have to be thankful for small mercies...it wasn't a tsunami or a hurricane...but damaging to us none the less.

Well....there's no need to be sarky young Indy...if you don't want to give your wine away you only have to say! LOL!!
Don't even try to tell me you consider the growing of your grapes & the fermenting of your wine is a trial of such tremendous proportions...you love it!
And....It's not half a dozen letters...it's bl**dy 14!! Not that easy & extremely unlikely we'll get it exactly right.
Sue...can you not give in & settle for a pint of bitter? Where's your Brummy spirit? In the bottom of a vodka bottle if you are anything like me!!
We may beat him...we may not..but at least we can say we tried!
(I think Mair's on our side too!) ;o))))))

When our neighbour's cat went missing for 6 weeks the local children saw her from the school bus as it went thru' the village.I then went up to that place & found her bedraggled & thin but fine. She was only about half a mile away from home but seemed disorientated maybe because we think she may have initially jumped into the back of a van at her house.
So take heart Mavis...miracles do happen & cats do turn up.
It may be worth you asking the kids on the local bus & the driver to keep an eye out?xx

They are horrid, devious little critters who eat from the bottom up & so you don't know what's occuring until you get the flop effect! You can't miss them in the soil. Yuk Yuk Yuk!!!

We've got some salamanders going up the wall ...they look like the real thing sometimes & make folk look again!! Ours were from an African crafts importer but I have seen them in all sorts of shops over here. Good luck with it all!!
