The Garden Community for Garden Lovers

I was looking for annual heliotropes and up popped this website which has occupied a great deal of my day because not only did I join growsonyou, but I went straight round to my best friend who compared to myself is a manic gardener, and she is going to join too.

We both belong to the local Hardy Perrenial Society and attend some of the very good talks and plant sales, and she too loves cats and has five at the moment as she fosters waifs and strays which sometimes become permanent.

Anyway, I have not yet bought the plants, but I know where to get them and best of all, I have discovered an incredibly friendly new world online.

My thanks to all those of you who responded to my new membership and photos so quickly and warmly.

Back soon

Hi Everyone,
Re. the HPS, we go to meetings in and around Lincoln and will be going to their next plant sale on May 15 in Welton Village. Starts at 10am if anyone lives near here too.
So, although I had no plans for other plants except for the heliotropes and some tomatoes, who knows what may take my fancy at a preferential price.
That's quite a list of things that grow in gardens as well as plants, but you forgot my hedgehogs! They get on famously with the cats i.e. they carefully ignore each other, but if the hedgehogs can find it, they will gobble up the cats' dinner and neither feline says a miaow.
Lovely to chat to you all

Welcome to GoY, Felinfan! :-)

Just over a year ago I also stumbled upon GoY while searching for some plant on the internet! Stayed around since then & have made many new friends who share my passion for gardening - even though I don't actually have one! I do my gardening on a balcony - though this spring I've "branched out" to help on an allotment.

Hope to se you around here frequently in the future! LOL! (It's terribly addictive!)

Hello to Balcony:thank you for the welcome. I shall watch out for news of your own plants and indeed those of which you take photos whilst out and about.
Am overdue with a blog about cat show and plant sales, but I've got a lot on at the moment and once I start I shall not know when to stop, so more a.s.a.p.

You're welcome, Felinfan! I look forward to reading your blogs as well. I'm about to make another update blog on the allotment. It'll be ready over the weekend to publish, I hope!
