Evening all,
Well the weather has been really strange here today (france)

It was forcast rain by mid day So up handy and out in the garden by 7am,
Birds singing and by 8am it was warm enough to have just a “T” shirt and shorts on.

I decided to use the strimmer (overalls back on) and strim all those places the mower cant get near enough to do any good.
All morning ive been strimming away and then (the boss) said to get changed as we we’re off to buy me a pair of trainers for the gardening light work ie mower riding etc.

3PM And we arrived at the big super market and the shoe dept,

Now i should explain the french are really bad at laying out shops inners, ie you’ll find dog biscuits next to baby rusk’s and cycle pumps next to food mixers etc etc etc ,

So when your in these places you better just walking each section and looking at everything until you find what your looking for,

Having sat down i tried a few pairs on and decided on the dark coloured pair,
A young trainee was sent to help me find my feet and things like that,
She was a really nice girl and we we’re getting on fine when i noticed my wife had gone off looking at what looked like inplants on the fruit counter, “mellons”

The young lady trying to impress her superviser asked if she could do anything else ?

Yes i said I’ll have a pair of these shoe soft liner’s
“they we’re hanging on a hook next to the nappies”
and it was all in french and i didnt have my specs on “but i could read” stops damp seeping through.
The young girls face turned a bright red, and as i tried one in the left shoe it felt really soft and i took a few steps and said yes i’d have a pair of these and the trainers,
Just then my wife returned and asked what this lovely young lady had helped me buy?
I said the dark trainers and a pair of these, they stop damp patches seeping through.

It was then my wife told the girl that she didnt need the
pads and i didnt use them and how sorry she was that her husband didnt know what he was buying.
They both burst out laughing and looking at me.
The product in french is called protege slips and are only used by ladies.
But they do look a little like shoe liners.
