I gave up on Hellebores as the on I grew was very invasive so I dug it out. Today I noticed a bit had survived. Well after all the great pics of Hellebores on here for the last few weeks I am quite won over. But should I let mine regrow or should I get something less invasive any ideas?

~ you could put it in a pot which would stop it ramping all over the place?~ it would be a shame to kill it off especially if it is a pretty one?

Mine are in pots because the summerhouse took their site and I havn't found another suitable place yet. I shall try, because they are now deteriorating - they seem unhappy in the pots. It depends how much suitable space is available. My light/shade shelter has been changed by the neighbour's cabin, so I have to wait and see how much...I love them but they do need space.

Pots are a good idea. Are you meaning they seed around, because you can always pot them on & sell them or give them to a charity shop to sell, or give them away to friends. As you've seen you get some lovely colours.

You could try some different varieties. Maybe the others will be better behaved . But I wouldn't get rid of the one you've got. You could try it in a pot as others have suggested.

Mine are planted out but I suppose it depends which type you have. They have never self-seeded...yet! :o)

When I was unable to garden for a year the one plant ended up taking over an area of about 6by10ft they were every where. Perhaps I will try them in pots as they are so pretty.
