The RSPB Big Bird Watch site has lots of information – “Helping garden wildlife is fun – and it couldn’t be easier. Over the weekend of 26-27 January 2013, we’d love you, your friends and family, to get involved in Big Garden Birdwatch – the world’s largest wildlife survey!
As an activity that started life as something for our youth membership to do in winter, Big Garden Birdwatch has grown into fun for all the family. All you need to do is count the birds in your garden or a local park for one hour then tell us what you see. If, like us, you love wildlife and want to do something to help, this is your chance to get involved in something that really counts.
Make submitting your results quicker and easier by telling us a little about you and your garden. By registering you can also get hold of a free pack full of hints and tips for the perfect Birdwatch, plus we’ll give you £5 off your next purchase on our online shop!”.

I take part every year, wish it had been today we had a flock of longtailed tits on the bird feeders and fieldfare under the old apple tree.......

Joined the RSPB recently and will certainly be doing bird watch (the first time for me) - like Pamg - today would have been good - the sprinkling of snow has brought the birds out en masse!
I've been making sure I know all the names so I can record correctly.

I still havent recovered from the Partridge savaging my netted Brussels - it was a big as a full grown hen.
Will definitely not count them.

Just carry on feeding the little ones.
