St. Swithin's Day wet or dry for you!

Well, fingers crossed, it's dry - so far. Lots of grey cloud, however......

Lets hope they blow over OJ.

Got my fingers crossed as its dry here aswell, but we are suppose to have rain tomorrow, hope there wrong.

Dull and dryish here..spitting rain! grrr..away to finish clearing out the shed! :( cant be bothered but it needs doing :)

Dry until noon then the heavens opened and it's still pouring down with plenty more grey skies all around :o((

No rain here...12th & 13h July the weather was fabulous.... though it always is when Northern Ireland's Orange men are celebrating the anniversary of The Battle of the Boyne......Dull weather since, but hey...no rain...:>)

Well it stayed dry until 5mins ago when i had jsut finished clearing the shed out!!!!!!!

Dry since 6.30 but it is looking quite grey over the reservoirs, more on the way I think. We did have time to do some jobs in the garden and fit in a small barbecue-these days you have to take a chance!!!!!

So far dry here. Don't think it rained this morning and we have even had little bits of sun. Going dull and grey again now. Hope it doesn't rain.

Lots of clouds with a few sunny periods .... and a cold blustery wind making it unpleasant to stay outside. Reminds me of March ...

The othermorning was just like autumn........

Has been reasonable all day here....like Pixi just a few we spittings of rain - all the washing got dry - that's a good sign. No tumble drier - think this is the first day for almost 2 weeks it hasn't needed to be on.
Mind you - the wind is picking up - it it's not one thing it's another!!!!!

We had a lot of rain this morning but just after mid-day the sun tried to come out...so it looks like a mixture of weather for the next 40 days here in Wuppervalley.

There was an item on the news this morning about this. Apart from the year when St Swithin was buried and it rained for 40 days in a row, there has never been 40 days of identical weather after July 15th since. Another myth I'm afraid.

Well it was dry all day here yesterday but very wet again today. So much for that myth!

Not sure but think we had some rain overnight / during the early hours of St Swithin's day, but it was certainly dry during the daytime.

Don't know what to make of that ...

Except I LOVE the rain Drc. Went out walking a neightbour's dog this afternoon and the atmosphere was special. It was drizzling but the sky was quite bright, as though the sun was trying to break through, everything was lush and green, and there was a lovely warm breeze.

I revelled in it!

I like warm soft rain too, but its very cold with torrential downpours day after day that I hate.

Its been quite dry here over the weekend-ive been away but im assuming it has as i needed to water the pots! touch wood ive had a good day today! :o)
