Hello. I understand that Hebes are more frost tender the larger the flower type, hardier the smaller. Here in the UK, I have found this to be very true one particularly bad winter we had a number of years ago....

On question - Hebe hardiness

Broad leafed hebes are considered to be less hardy than the narrow leafed ones. They former certainly do not survive here in most winters.

On question - Hardy?

Hi Dormer, it looks like H.speciosa can manage 0 degrees to -5 depending on the cultivar but it seems the variegated varieties might not manage... are you expecting a proper winter?

A native plant of New Zealand, it will tolerate some extreme conditions - drought and salt. It will tolerate light to medium frosts say some growers and others that it is frost tender. I would err on the side of caution and protect it from frost

On question - Hebe hardiness
