Where's the garden?
15 Jun, 2010
ups how do i put it here lol
Are you going to use planters?
are you digging it up and putting in lawn or just replaceing woodchip
to be honest thinking of putting stone in both squares , but not sure ??dont want wood chip again an grass needs cutting lol
where the square is with bark on, i thinking of putting small boarder there for plants ??
oh dear what, not good idea ?
ok Doddy, considering not much cash and you want really low maintaintence
this is what I would do, Gravel both squares and as and when you have spare cash you can buy a plant/shrub and add to the gravel garden, slowly building it up, keep the larger plants at the back working down to the smaller ones at the front, dont put them in lines or around the edge, it looks more interesting if you "place them" thinking about colour and form and how they would look next to each other. When planting clear away the gravel to expose the weed suppressor, cut a cross into it, fold back the sides and dig out a hole, you will need to add some fresh compost before adding the plant, put the weed suppressor back and cover again with gravel, water well and enjoy. Maybe some of your neighbours if dividing plants in the autumn, they would be willing to share them with you! When you have decided what to do, the guys here on GoY will be only too pleased to help with suggestions of plants if you need help with that aswell... hope this helps and I haven't misunderstood.

thankyou you so much dido that was very help full and i will take every thin you said on board even want to copy this comment, or does the comments stay on here,
on the first picture i have put wooden edging right the way across and was goin to fill it was plants, hope that would look ok what you think also the fence you can see i was going to keep same colour i like it,,,the pink edgeing i dont like an want to paint what colour do you suggest, i thought same as fence ?
thanks so much again for your help,,,
Your welcome! If you like the colour of the fence, then keep it.. the pink edging you could disguise with plants (Ground cover plants) these would grow over and hide the edging, if you paint it the weather will will get in and the paint will start to come off, then it will look awful...
RIGHT THANKS FOR THAT WILL THINK LONG AN HARD,ITS JUST I WAS GOING TO FILL BOTH SPACES WITH STONE , I SUPPOSE I COULD JUST PLANT GROUND COVER PLANTS ROUND EDGE, THINK I WILL DO EVERYTHING ELSE FIRST AN SEE WHAT IT LOOK LIKE, THE PAINTED FENCE, STONES, TABLE AN CHAIRS, POT PLANTS COULD MAKE ALL THE DIFFERANCE AN THE PINK EDGING MIGHT NOT LOOK THAT BAD,
I WILL FED UP WHAT GET OUT THERE NOW ITS LOVELY DAY, I CANT PULLED MUSCLE IN RIIB CAGE WELL PAINFULL, PAINKILLERS ARE HELPING, JUST MY LUCK WHEN IT BETTER IT WILL BE RAINING LOL
THANKS AGAIN FOR YOU HELP
No problem Tracey, thats what its all about throwing ideas around and trying different things, all adds to the fun, sorry to hear about your injury, feet up and cups of tea always seems to work well for me, take care..
Good luck with your garden Doddy. It doesn't look like too much hard work, although with your injury you need to take it easy. I bet it looks lovely when you have a few plants in and get your fence painted. Look forward to seeing the "after" pics and hope your ribs are better soon....:o)
