Improvements to the garden over the last month.

Hi everyone, now that the pond and main parts of the garden are done I have been making a few more improvements.

New fences in and painted up

Moved a shrub/small tree from here and put in the top gravel area, reason being I have a main electrical junction box here which is always difficult to access with the tree there and to partially hide the double height gravel boards which had to be put in because of the level changes in the garden.Decided to have a look in the garage and shed to see what odd bits of timber I had to build a planter.

Liner in and new trellis up.

Needed to move this rose from next to the tree here as I
wanted to tidy the cobbles up and had no where else to put it at the time. Will be putting some climbers in here soon.

Removed all the cobbles as I did not have any membrane under them and they were sinking into the soil.

Membrane under.

Now looking tidy.

Just got to sort this little area, more electrical boxes under this slab, which I will move to the planter area and just try to make this look better.Bit of a mis-match in levels.Going to do this today.

A few days ago I went to buy some extra stuff to improve the soil quality as mine is so full of clay and very sticky.I have been adding sharp sand to help break it up but needed more quality top soil and compost etc.

I will be raking all the bark chippings area as well so I can improve the soil quality here before replanting and chipping

Had a trip out yesterday to a garden centre and could not resist buying some more plants.

I have a few more little projects in mind and plenty of planting to do,so will keep you updated with another blog when this is done.
