Hello all, this is my first blog so slow is the word. I am in East Sussex and a retired teacher of Dyslexic teenagers. All my life I have been interested inPlants and propagation, in my retirement I help a Hospice by raising fairly unusual plants and bulbs plus of course grasses. I am very lucky to have access to a large Greenhouse and an area around it for display. Following a bereavement I realised the importance of Hospices so every piece of profit goes to a worthy cause, after a shocking winter in Hastings , and of course everywhere else I am launching myself to the cause. I am an avid follower of ‘Christo’ Lloyd late of Great Dixter. I would like to ask if anyone has an answer to Rabbits (nice answers of course) and Sciarid Fly. My site is jamesfenn@btinternet.com It is sonice and encouraging to see such a friendly group

My garden is fenced in but this year I've had the beginnings of holes on the other side of the field fence. At first I put doggy poo around the whole which worked but one cheeky blighter got half way under the wooden fence. This time I mixed some water with Detol, emptied it around the hole and hey presto, no more rabbits.

Wish I could help with the rabbit problem, but have loads of the little blighters myself, like flippin watership down here, lol, they only seem to go for specific plants and newly planted ones here so cover thoses with wire netting, think the only solution is to sink netting a couple of feet down around the whole garden, not an option for me, too large an area, luckily the resident fox keeps the population down a bit, good luck and welcome to GOY.

We never see a hedgehog, just as well as the cars go too fast along the lane.
