Good to see it clouding up. The clouds kept me cool this morning

enabling some clearing work to be done.

They shielded the plants from the burning rays of the sun during the middle part of the day that Hywel hates so much.
Its been a surprise to see that my Crevice Garden is unaffected by the heatwave. Made me think.
Therefore, planting the roots deep between rocks keeps them cool and retains moisture.
My old wheelbarrow is just full of dead burned plants.
I sat gazing at it for some time, thinking what to do to avoid this happening again.
Decided to collect all the old stone, rocks and bricks lying about.
Tip the dead stuff out of the wheelbarrow.
Start a new Crevice Garden in it by piling them back in leaving spaces for new Alpine plants to put their roots down in the rocks, with some purchased stone to cover on top and make a surface.
Feel happier now.

Please can we have some of your clouds. Relentless sunshine here and it's very hot. I stayed indoors all day … waste of time.
Good luck with your crevice garden. I hope you can find some nice alpines for it.

Not for long Eirlys, maybe 5 minutes ! I am being inspired by you, having a clear out of my cycle camping kit. Those days are over. I needed everything I took. Treasure the experience now. Rebuilding the burned out garden keeps the mind occupied.
The rain clouds seem stuck in the middle of the Atlantic by this jet stream problem.
Off to France with le Tour at 12 noon (Channel 24) they dont seem to build housing estates like we do, front gardens are a no no, actually saw some huge Lavender bushes yesterday.
They are just starting the harvest.
I love it when they put messages onto the stubble with the mower blades for the helicopters (an me) to see.
Rest days Monday and Tuesday.
