My African Violets are thriving on the north west facing

window sill in my kitchen. I tried other places around my
flat without success last year. Its not always a good idea
to follow advice, as window sills vary in various houses.

Today I have trimmed off the excess growth of outer leaves. These will go into the compost bin, as I havent
space for more in this situation.

Filled the large plant saucers with water which included a dose of houseplant fertiliser. They will get the

benefit of a good drink, plant food, through their roots.

The flowers are beautiful, especially at this time of year.

Mum grew them on her kitchen window too.....They die with me, I'm actually not much for houseplants, I suppose I get a bit bored with them , most windowsils are south or west....not good!

Different house. Different aspect.
A man once said to me at a flower show " Dont move that plant from where I have put it. I know what you women are like. Always dusting and moving things !"
He knew the exact position his plant needed to be in.

I just laughed Stera. It was so funny, but it meant he really understood his plants and cared for them.
