Yes....happy birthday from me too.
I'm off to Luton today (well, my pirate carachter Captain Blackfoot is) to celebrate a couple of little lads birthdays. Great fun! Just got to load everything in the ship(well, ok , it's a car) now, ready to go!
I've seen adverts for tee shirts on Facebook......they use your personal details to send ads for things that may interest you.

Happy Birthday Daylily, thats a brilliant T'shirt design for us gardeners, I know for a fact that I perfected that skill many years ago, I can see why you are pleased with your garden, its a credit to you...

Happy birthday Daylilly. Hope you had a great day.

Same birthday as my dad. We had an entertaining day at Ludlow food festival with him.

Happy belated birthday Daylily. Whooo yes, love your Betula, I hope mine looks good some day soon. Is that your cornus on the right? Looks fab, as does your stops gigantea.

13 Sep, 2015

Thank you Dawn yes that's the cornus on the right that's been in about 4 years too and doing well growing quite big now and the stipa does really well too! Cut the stipa right back in early spring to a ball and it's done really well :-))

I think we have the same taste. Love stipa too.

I used to have a Robinia frisia but that died after 9 years as many across the country did, so chose the birch to replace it :-)

14 Sep, 2015

Me too. We do have the same idea. Mine only lasted one season, planted about 5 years ago, shame but with hindsight they do get big. I'm on the look out for a peeling bark Betula. I have Acer griseum but fancy a birch but the one I want isn't readily available.

Great minds think alike lol, obviously do have a fairly small garden so hope the birch doesn't get too big. My other tree is Liquidambar, lovely autumn colours, but I do like acer griseum and the red barked one Prunus serula is a nice one, which is the birch you like? :-)

14 Sep, 2015

I have Liquidamber too and would love Prunus serula, spooky. The birch I would like iis Betula albosenensis China ruby
