Fruit Trees etc. at Aldi

If anyone is thinking of buying fruit trees, Aldi have them in this week.
Thursday 18th February – Cherry, Pear, Plum, Apple etc. Min. height 1.2m, £3.99 each. We’ve had them in the past and they’re usually good trees. I think this sounds quite reasonable.

For £2.49 they’ve also got a Seed and Cutting Tray, which includes x40 6cm pots which I’ll be getting and for £2.99 a triple propagator pack. All on their website.

Thanks for the info Dawn. There isn't an Aldi near here lol :( - Never mind. It's nice when people are so thoughtful as to share information like this.

I did Mavis, yes. I bought a couple from there last year - aluminium ones. They were selling them off so I got 2 for around £30

Tescos have fruit trees too! I got a nice plum tree there for £7. Planted it in just about the last space! The trees all seem to be about 1m tall and i think they are all the same price.

Thanks for the info Dawn, did not know Aldi had a website.?

Aldi and Lidl have websites and all the special offers are on there - its worth just checking to see what's coming up. I got some pots of crocuses yesterday from Lidl for 49p instead of £1.69, there's around 12 bulbs in each pot. Past their sell by date but they'll be great next year.

You did well, I shall keep an eye on their websites in future, so thanks Dawn.

Its worth popping on their websites Dotty - they often have gardening things and plants. I got the potting tray today with the 40 pots and the seed tray propagators. They also had really good quality bird boxes but I resisted those.

We bought some fruit trees from Aldi, all prospered, BUT don't take the labelling as gospel. I chose a Bramley Seedling to go with the others. It turned out to be a Spartan dessert variety! They buy up the nursery oddments and repack them, so mistakes can easily happen on leafless twigs.

Hi Mooncat, I'll watch out for what you've said. Funnily enough we had some trees a few years ago free from the council that should have been crab apple, I'm sure they're Discovery, lol.
