Any old iron?

By davros

Anyone into bicycles? I fetch my compost on this;it’s that strong that it can carry several bags at once.
It’s a real monster-weighs 56 lbs with a 24’’ frame:absolutely useless on hills I can tell you! But it’s a joy to ride on the level and a real head turner ,and I like the saddle it’s like a work of art.

Lovely bike built to last. Is it a Raleigh?
My first bike that I had for passing my scholarship many years ago was a Robin Hood also made by Raleigh.
It is obviously a good work horse.

Davros- your bike reminds me of home! In the Netherlands most people have such bikes which are used on a daily basis to go to work, do the shopping of take children to school. I used to have a ladies version called 'swan neck'. I will post a picture of one such bike on my photo's for you to see. Lovely bike btw.

Thanks Amsterdam,it is like a Dutch one isn't it? I like how you can ride it wearing your best suit,if I had one,and not get dirty- and no need for trouser clips! Look forward to seeing your pic. Cheers

I still have my bike,( another Raleigh ) in the shed, unfortunately I haven't ridden it for years as my knees won't allow it but I loved that bike and travelled many miles on it..
