I have daffodils;not exactly ‘’Tossing their heads in sprightly dance’’ In fact they have no heads at all, but,to be fair the bulbs were only planted last autumn. Can anyone enlighten this ignorant veg grower as to when he can expect: ‘’A host of golden daffodils?’’
I thought I’d share with you a picture of my favourite allotmenteer of all: Hubert,he’s 84 years young is Hubert; a real character,and- a real gardener-not like me who only looks like one. He overcame cancer just a few years ago and has got type 1 diabetes and other chronic health problems including some,of which, affect his mobility. But,he soldiers on regardless! bless him,and is always cheerful.
I’m convinced it’s his love of gardening that keeps him going. I hope he’s around for a good many more growing seasons-even if he does have to sit down much of the time!

I bet he can answer everybody's questions about what went wrong and what to do about it! What a lovely looking man.

Thanks snoop dog, you're right I think they were cheap bulbs that had been lying about for a long time.I'll pass your regards on to Hubert.

Great photo Davros. Wish him well from me, in Cheshire. Tell him he's becoming famous on an "International Gardening" website. He may get some fan mail from some of the ladies on the site .... that would definitely keep him going for a few more years.

Had missed this one Davros, great photo, I really think your right, being on the allotment probably keeps him going, I bet he enjoys the chats with people passing by as much as anything else...
