I've really enjoyed your pics of this place throughout the year, Janey. Really like the colours of those heads. :-)

Lovely - don't mind how often you show this! All Best Wishes with the weather. :-)

They're great! :-)

Great! I think you just can't go wrong with an urn with trailing ivy, it's a classic. "Wise" move, Annella.

Yes, looks like Shaggy Inkcap to me, too.
On photo - Are these Ink Caps?
This looks like it was a very interesting show. Really likeed seeing these more unusual alliums. Many Thanks!

Must have been a practice run - now it's all for real! And, on the suburban approaches, they have signs saying "Visit Edinburgh City Centre, for Leisure and Pleasure" - LOL. They went way over budget when the first holes were dug - a very troubled project, indeed. Some of those holes will become bottomless pits, financially, am sure.
Look forward to hearing back from that. MG!
You're very welcome. Alz! :-)
On question - Calling all Scottish GoYers
Many Thanx for the rose info, Gilli. I can readily get "Hot Chocolate" here, and there are several pics of it here on GOY. On my GOY wishlist now for next year. Don't tend to get snow here locally before Jan/Feb (last year was "different").
Just remember, in the Winter, far beneath the bitter snows,
lies the seed, that with the sun's love, in the Spring, becomes the rose.
A whole lot less highbrow than Shaespeare, lol!!!
:-D
On blog - Roses - do they grow on you?
Oooooh.........you bet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-)) Many Thanks, Di!!!! :-D
On photo - Snake's head Iris....for David.
More like an hour's walk from Haymarket!!!!!! Keithsmum! I work in Corstorphine, so know well, and Gyle area too. Easy to pick you up, too, if required. As Waverley and St Andrew's Bus Station, and my fave carpark, all close together, and only 10 mins or less from RBGE, there would be no prob driving anyone to the venue. It's all downhill to RBGE from there, but very steep, and even steeper (seems) getting back up!! Would be happy to be the GOY "courtesy bus" service, if we can fix a date. Don't mind making a couple of trips, either - and avoiding the tramworks!!! :-))

Read yesterday that Wallace & Gromit just had their 20th birthday!!!!! Don't know what's harder to believe - that they have been around so long, or that 1989 was, in fact 20 years ago!!!!! Will always love the veggies in "Curse of the Wererabbit"! :-D
On photo - CRACKING POOL, GROMIT !
Many Thanks, Gee - and I have certainly learned a whole lot of stuff from doing themed gardens with the kids!! :-))

Lol!!! Too busy right now for a blog...but you never know!!! Panto season fast approaching, and all...............!
Yes, Gee, we three all have our birthdays in October. my daughter and I share the same day (she got Dorothy, and I got Minnie and Mickey!!!!). My son's birthday is just 2 weeks later, and he got Tin Man (all from my Aunt, who lost her husband earlier this year). My uncle was always in awe of our Wiz of Oz garden - he gave us the huge cuddly lion for that one and, of course, we still have that lion here).
I really like the fact that Dorothy is wearing silver shoes. In the original story, the slippers were silver - only changed to the now fanous ruby ones for the movie, with its tecnicolor innovations.
She found them in a local gift shop, but you can get them online - the whole Oz collection of characters, and a wonderful undulating Yellow Brick Road display stand. Heartwood Creek, by Jim Shore. No doubt, will be adding to our collection. :-))

Oh Janey, don't, please, give me more ideas - lol!! Acutally, Arlene just sent me my 2010 one - filled with choc pics and recipes!!!!! :-)))
Sorry to read this, Sk, but my eyesight's not as good as was once. Whatever do you mean? Well, if you don't want roses to grow on you, remove the hips!!!! Problem solved!!! :-)))

I didn't waste my time. Enjoyed another tour round your garden, Di. Hope I didn't disturb you, lol!! :-))
On photo - Snake's Head Fritillary....for D...
yes Di, I found it - even got PMs to alert me, lol!!! But, I do have to work sometimes too :-((.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pure Green's organic dark and white if ever I saw it in plant form. Straight into the faves this goes........and onto the Irises page on GOYpedia, so that I can lick it over and over!!!!!!!!!!! :-D
On photo - Snake's head Iris....for David.

I love them too!! Shows how family still choose pressies related to our themed gardening!!!! There are others, might do a blog (but will be careful to post under "other" - LOL!!!!!!
On photo - A Recent Gift (2)
No, I did NOT know you have low ceilings, and we do NOT all hop. skip and jump, or otherwise turn everything into alcohol!!!! Hip, Hip, Hop. Hic!.............. :-)
On photo - For GF & Cat 1
Well, Sue, I can still see two (roses) - lol!!! :-)
Yes, we did! :-))
On photo - For GF & Cat 1
Drink a drink containing many Es, mixed with liquor, and then you'll soon easily be scraping yourself off the ceiling. How did you get up there in the first instance? :-))
On photo - For GF & Cat 1
Thought it would be, Marie - replied to Pm, btw! :-)
On blog - Autumn River Walk (didnt get far!!)
Or.....even finding her on it, lol!!! England is not so organised (not meant to sound at all "bad", btw), but here, we can trace anyone and everyone - birth, marriage death certs, war service records, local church records, etc., back to the 1500s, etc, all on one website. I even have discs of such info which I can use to do genealogical research within our County!!! Amazing! Also, with all the local newspapers copied onto microfilm, found ancestors winning prizes in local shows for having the biggest cabbages (how convenient, for our current garden theme!)
Anyway, was great to have another trip through your garden, but didn't find the Snakeshead Iris. :-))
On photo - My great grandmother....
I know, I always take my dad with me, and only shop at B&Q, on Wednesdays - not a Fifer for nothing, after all lol!!! A bit cheeky, really.
Will show M&M later in a pic, with explanation! :-))
On blog - A sunny autumn day in Moray
Well, that "shortcut", full of mud at best of times, would deinitely have been a no-goer this time, eh?
On blog - Autumn River Walk (didnt get far!!)
Nice thugs - but great words of warning, Spritz. Thankfully, nowadays I have to garden in containers, so even the mint can't rampage. In a former garden. however, I planted a single variegated Houttuynia, despite the "words of wisdom" from the checkout girl. Was she right!! Gave up trying to give bits away after year one - it's probably almost taken over the whole village by now!!
On blog - THUGS
Get well soon!!! :-)
On blog - Computer problems AGAIN :~((
Lovely!! What do gardeners with Diamond Cards do, apart from going to B&Q on Wednesdays? Go to (get) seed, of course! What a great carpark this is. :-)
On blog - A sunny autumn day in Moray
Wow, you are so lucky to have photos of family members from days gone by!! I just have mental pics of them from this time. Brilliant, also, that you're keeping her plants going! :-))
