Garden changes/ plans.

We absolutely love our back garden at our house and as previously mentioned had plans for last year- we had booked to have a conservatory built on the back, and decided that we’d have a gravel path through the middle of the garden. As well as this we were in the middle of redecorating the entire house. Plans for everything had to be stopped last august when our dog was diagnosed with a cancerous Tumour in his stomach. The rest of last year was spent nursing him until last Friday when he finally couldn’t take it anymore. He was lively and happy and playful until last Thursday when he became very miserable, blind and incontinent. He died peacefully in his sleep last Friday.

The decision has already been made that the world will now resume (after not wanting to disturb or upset him last year, as we are told he’s only survive another two weeks, he did survive an additional five months) including a conservatory, house work etc, and now the lawn. We have decided to shape the lawn and have a gravel border surrounding it. I also have swapped around some acers to make room for the two I purchased at Christmas :) here’s some photos of it today.. and a rough plan and picture from google of what I’d like to do around the lawn..

The first acer is one of the new ones, it has taken the place of a small red acer dissectum which I have moved into the raised bed to cover the filter box (in the next photo)

The photo below is of the new four and a half foot tall acer Palmatum dissectum that is in the. Order to add some colour because everything there has green foliage :)

Below is a photo of what we’d like to do to shape and surround our lawn.. however our lawn won’t be circular it will be a strange irregular shape :)

Below is a rough outline in red of where the gravel will go and the shape of the lawn..

Sorry to hear abiut your loss, Dan. Very sad. But, nice that he just slipped away in his sleep.
The work in the garden will help to take your mind off things.
