My New Archway

Here it is…my long awaited archway, bought at a bargain price from B&Q,
“definition of growing older” spending time in B&Q on a Wednesday with your Gold Card buying bargains.

I’m hoping to create a secret garden, you can just see the “Summer Jasmine officinale Fiona Sunrise” with its lemony green leaves already taking hold and starting to climb. I have for the other side, either Climbing Fuschia “Lady Boothby” or climbing “Begonia Inferno” it was to be both but the conifer looks so at home here I have more or less decided it’s going to stay so there is only really room for one of them. The other I might grow up and over the garden shed or remove some of the raspberries and grow over the fence, we shall see.

That's lovely! It looks really well there, the icing on the cake! Are you growing anything nice up it?

Very nice archway - did you concrete it in? I haven't heard of the lemony jasmine; must have a look for it.

Very pretty arch ... a word of warning on the 'Fiona Sunrise' though. I planted mine in May '09 and it first bloomed in July 2010, the drought conditions may well have stunted it's growth so I've moved it off the arbour to cover a fence. I think it was having too much sun all day, it now has sun from about midday onwards. Just keep it well watered to get those lovely white blooms! : o ))

Yep....it's as pretty as a daisy in you garden :) I can say that with certainty as I've visited Daisyco's garden today and everything is looking find and dandy. Like has been said elsewhere...we just need some more sunshine.

The arch looks right at home there...love it too.
