A lovely evening.

I’ve just spent a lovely evening with friends, in my garden :) The rain stopped mid-afternoon, the sun came out and I was able to “deadhead” and tidy up the garden. The visitors arrived at 7-30pm….the candles were lit, the wine was chilled, and the garden looked it’s absolute best :))) I was having such a good time, I forgot to reach for my camera…so you’ll just have to trust me! The visitors have been “regulars” at my garden openings for many years, and even though I no longer open for the NGS, they insist on a “private visit” each summer. I thought they may be disappointed this year, as I don’t think I’ve maintained the garden to NGS standards….but they were enthralled by it, and so complimentary! A good time was had by all, and it makes me feel that all the effort put into the garden is well worth it.

PS. Took this photo this morning…says it all really :)) If you look carefully through the mirror, you might just catch a glimpse of some of last night’s empties…lol

Lol...you'd all be very welcome :) My furthest visitor tonight came from London (a long way from here)...she enjoyed the garden, the wine (white not red....sorry Mobee) and a big slice of lemon drizzle! It was GREAT to see her!!

No photos!! With all that wine maybe they would have been a bit fuzzy. :-)))) It's so nice to share the results of our gardening efforts. It's worth doing just for our own pleasure but even better when others are so appreciative too. Glad you had a lovely evening.

Glad the weather cleared up for you Di...I got out for a bit of deadheading too...it was actually warm for a change. We have nights like that with friends & candles too...doesn't it make all the effort worthwhile when your friends appreciate it?!

Yes, it does make it all worth while ...I love to see people enjoying themselves in the garden....beats sitting out on the footpath, inhaling traffic fumes outside a wine bar in our local village, lol ;)
