November Skies

Before I moved here, this is exactly the kind of weather that would make me feel like finding a hole and going to sleep for 5 months!

But now I find even this weather brings drama and an incredible beauty to my life. I’m not saying it’s my favourite weather….but I don’t dread it like I used to. :)

Its stunning countryside Karen and the tees look spectacular.Thats about the only thing I miss about our old house.....the view over farmland/countryside! Although we have lots of beautiful countryside within a few minutes drive/cycle / walk where we live now!

for some reason I'm reminded of "Moses & The Ten Commandments" very dramatic.

I know what you mean Karen, its your views, they have become an extension to your lovely garden, wintry skies with a view are completely different to one enclosed by fences and rooftops, at least todays skies look dramatic for you, ours is an offwhite and has been since Monday and its still raining, certainly making up for all those weeks when we didn't get any....

Lovely shots Karen - there is always something to do in the garden - at the moment it is pretty dull and gloomy here as well - I took a tour round this morning and pushed all the bulbs back into their pots where the blackbirds had uprooted them searching for worms and I have read the Gardening News - have a good day - Jane

Beautiful photos Karen. It is like having constantly changing paintings framed by your windows. Love those 'oops feel good' moments when you walk past or stand chopping your veggies.

Gloomy damp day here but I have been out making Christmas cakes at Sarah's, so not had time to be outside in it. Lovely views of special skies and that scenery is amazing. :O)

Really moody photos Karen, but so beautiful too, no wonder you love your new home. I love being in the elements don't you? X

Thanks Linda and Janey. I dont enjoy being outdoors in windy weather Janey, but don't mind rain or snow. In fact a walk in snow is a favourite of mine. I hope we get some this year! We haven't had any to speak of since we moved here, so thats something to look forward to!

You couldn't possibly want for better views, would make fabulous paintings, breathtaking Karen, and forever changing, I walk to the bottom of the road and look at the sea if I need to get away from fences, etc

How refreshing! Walking around these days I see an ever increasing amount of people that don't notice, nor care about anything but themselves. Those poor fools, they miss so much of life.

Karen I know just how you feel about seeing the ever changeing views from your home when we was thinking about buying our bungalow I brought along my big sister to see it for reasurance and when she went to every window and seen the views of the mountians and the amount of sky we could see she said a view like that is good for the soul and how right she was its still makes me want to get up in the morning and throw back the curtains after 30 years .... Enjoy yours !

Hi Karen, I thought Constable had died years ago, lol, Derek.

It is Terra. Scotland is so beautiful. I'm not over fond of the bleak heather clad hills of the borders, but once I get past the Central belt I know I'm home. :)

Thanks everyone! Perhaps I'll paint it one day.

The 2nd one would be a lovely one to paint perhaps with a shaft of sunlight to make it a bit less moody. (If only I had the talent).
Karen, you've mentioned painting before have you any we could see?

What moody skies, but definitely worth painting...come on get out that paint box and easel.

Great pictures, Karen. The changing views are a real enhancement to life. Here on the west of the Lancashire Plain it's flat, but when of town we do see some pretty good skyscapes.
